Skipping For Overall Good Health

The school yard activity of skipping is something that most of us have done as a child but for some reason moved on for one reason or another. It's one of the most basic forms of cardiovascular activities that can be very beneficial to your health. Did you know that you can burn 100 calories in 10 minutes of skipping. It's one of the most inexpensive and convenient forms of exercise that can be enjoyed all year around.

Not only will you be increasing your balance and coordination, but you'll be doing it with less impact on your joints compared to jogging or running. It's a fully body workout that works your arms, legs, and abs all at the same time. Plus something else that you might not of known, but skipping is also helpful for good colon health as you bounce and shake your insides. A helpful tip to remember is that you should alternate between feet when skipping, double foot skipping is stressful on the heart, so keep the movement going by bouncing on one foot at a time.

Next time you hit the gym, try 10 minutes of skipping before you hit the weights, it'll get you warmed up and you might even break a sweat.
